We have been a little more social than usual lately. It's kinda fun for a change! We hosted a homemade pizza night for some friends and had a delightful time. One of the highlights was being able to show everyone the new shoes that Jack bought for me and get their opinion on them. That topic is a separate post in and of itself!

I also helped celebrate the readoption of Daniel. Ruthanne invited a few friends over for some Ethiopian food. I had never eaten Ethiopian food before and my goodness, it was really good. You do not use utensils; you use injerra (kinda like a tortilla) to pick up the food. Very fun and interesting. I took a fantastic picture of Daniel and his big brother Andrew but deleted it by accident. I was so bummed! If you would like to read about Ruthanne, Andrew and Daniel, check out
Ruthanne's blog.
We also celebrated JD's return from Afghanistan! JD has been a friend of Wayne and our whole family since the boys were in kindergarten. (side note: I will never ever forget that JD flew home from college when Dane died. JD had enjoyed some fun times with the cousins Dane, Kjell and Arne.). JD joined the Marines after college and has served our country well. Wayne helped organize a welcome back bash for JD and Jack and I were invited. The party started at 9pm (you know those youngsters!) so we went for the first 1 1/2 hours. We couldn't pass up the chance to say thank you to JD.
