On Tuesday, Sally and I picked up her dress from the bridal salon and took it over to the seamstress for the first fitting. It is such a beautiful dress and looks so fantastic on Sally. We go back for the second fitting in mid-May.
On Thursday, I stopped by the invitation shop and picked up 3 sets of the invitations for us to enjoy. I left the rest there because they are going to address them for us. We are so thrilled with the final product! Sally had a clear idea of what she wanted and it worked.
After the stop at the invitation shop, Jack and I met Sally, Matt and Matt's parents, Mary and Bob at the Hyatt for the tasting. It was a whole lot more than a tasting, though, as we had to make decisions on lots of different things. For example, which one of the six different napkin folds did we want? I didn't even know there were that many ways to fold a napkin! We tasted wines, two different entrees, two starches (let me just say that the parmesan mashed potatotes are a.maz.ing.), two vegetables as well as four different wines. Tough duty, I know! It was interesting that all 6 of us had pretty much the same preference on everything.
On Friday, I only had to work a 1/2 day because of different spring break schedules. I got a ton done at work, then went over to see Christy and Cath who were working on invitations for Sally's shower. Such good friends. Afterward we went out for a quick lunch at Corner Bakery. It was a beautiful, sunny afternoon and I loved having time with my girlfriends.
It was a wonderful week, with much accomplished. Maybe that's why I couldn't get out of my pajamas til 2 pm today!
