almost 4 weeks with my new hip

Here is the latest update and my thoughts about my new hip.
It's all good.
I thought my post-op appointment was supposed to be Monday, April 18th at 10:45am. I had received paperwork from the doctor's office with that time and date and I dutifully put it on my calendar. There was a mix up in the office and for some reason it was never entered in the computer. To make a long story short, I rescheduled for yesterday at 4:15pm and it worked out great actually. Dr. Levine was the only doctor working and the office had a super positive vibe going. I showed up at 4, was in the exam room by 4:15 and was out of there by 4:45. First I was seen by Emily, the advanced nurse practitioner, my bff who I have exchanged emails with for the past three weeks. She looked at the incison, watched me walk, and then chatted with me for at least 15 minutes. Emily has been so helpful to me in this whole process. She is super knowledgeable and personable and I can ask her any question and she never makes me feel dumb or that I am bothering her. After she left, Dr. Levine came in and watched me walk, did a few things with my legs and said things looked great. I had a lovely chat with him as well. He is very humble and not at all pompous. I am just so thankful for them and how they made this process that much easier for me.
I go back in two weeks for an x-ray and then I can start lifting the hip precautions (i.e,  for the first 6 weeks, I can't bend at the waist greater than 90 degrees, can't cross my legs, can't turn my foot inward).
In terms of activities of daily living, I am seeing improvement every day. I have just completed two weeks (6 sessions) of outpatient physical therapy. I also have an amazing PT, Phillip and PTA, Karen. I am walking better than I have in a couple of years and I am using muscles that I haven't used in a long time. I still have some pain, but not nearly as much as before the surgery and it is easily managed.
I am scheduled to go back to work a week from Monday and I am looking forward to it. I have missed my kids and coworkers and my routine.
Praise God for all His many blessings in my life!
