Fun weekends and summer is in the air

We are on a roll. Jack and I have had two fun weekends in a row. Late spring is like that. The warmth of the sunshine and the increased hours of light make for a better attitude.
It's Memorial Day weekend. I love love love this time of year!!!! My peonies are blooming and it's the end of the school year and I can smell summer in the air.

Don't get me wrong. I love my job as you all know. The problem with working full-time is that it is full-time. It doesn't leave a whole lot of room for other things, especially at this busy end of the school year time.
Luckily we have had two fun weekends in a row.
Last weekend, we helped celebrate the wedding of our friends' daughter. Bill and Carol's second oldest daughter, Sara, married a great guy named Aaron. The weather was perfect, the wedding at St. Isaac's was beautiful and the reception at Esplanade Lakes was extremely fun. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

This weekend, we had a fun Friday night with Mark and Cathy. They invited us out for dinner and it was a light hearted, great conversation, delicious food and drink kind of night. We dined outdoors under a covering and even though it rained on and off throughout the night, it didn't dampen the fun at all. It was kinda cool actually. The fresh air that rain brings is renewing.

Yesterday we helped celebrate the first birthday of Jack, the grandson of Christy and Steve, son of Matt and Jen. Oh my. Super fun and we may have outstayed our welcome, but I am pretty sure we didn't. Lots of babies, young couples, champagne flowing, great food, and again, brilliant sunshine and a beautiful day. The party started at 1pm and well, we did not get home til close to 9pm. We got a ride home from a great guy named Jeff and a sweetheart named Christy. So. Much. Fun.

In between all of the fun, I have been productive like you would not believe. I am working on the end of the school year wrap up and all that involves, and it is all coming together better than I had hoped. I am trying to front load my work for the next two weeks as much as I can. I am trying to get done all that I can ahead of time because I have to pack up my classroom again this year. Sadly, my Monday through Thursday classroom is getting moved out of my beloved WPSchool. More about that in another post.

On this Memorial Day weekend, I give thanks to those who fought and died for our country.
