It sure has been an interesting Fourth of July weekend. It doesn't even feel like the Fourth, partly because it fell on a Sunday and the parade is tomorrow. Also, both kids are out of town; Wayne and Julie went to Kentucky and Sally and Matt went up to Wisconsin to Matt's family's place Fireworks are tonight, but Jack and I are not going. We have been so busy this weekend. I have been spending a lot of time with my mom since her fall. It has been hard to watch her be in pain and not-so-independent and let me tell you, her independence is important to her. Please say a prayer for her, that her pain will lessen and that she will regain some mobility soon. Jack and I went to see her tonight. Mom was moved to the rehab floor today and so hopefully that will help her get moving better.
Jack and I have had a very productive weekend, though. We had booked a dumpster for this weekend, Thursday July 1st through Tuesday July 6th, with intention of cleaning out our garage and the attic and we accomplished both. It has been wonderful to have the dumpster in our driveway for more than just one day, as we have been able to pace ourselves. We did about an hour on Friday, another hour or two yesterday and then hit it full force today. Wow, does it ever feel good. We got rid of so much stuff! Jack and I both fought being too sentimental about things and that helped alot. We were ruthless! I will try and post some pictures.
Looking forward to the annual Fourth of July parade tomorrow.
