Matt and Jen's wedding

A week ago today we witnessed the marriage of Matt and Jen. Matt and Wayne met the first day of kindergarten at The Lane School (who will ever forget the backpack with the working clock on the front of it? I know I won't!). His mother, Christy, and I have been BFFs ever since.
Matt and Jen asked Jack to do a reading at their wedding since Jack was Matt's Confirmation sponsor. That meant a lot to Jack. They asked me to do the blessing/grace before the meal at the reception. And that meant a lot to me. And with Wayne as one of the groomsman, it made the day even more special to us. The three pictures below are stills that I captured from the video Jack took with the flipcam. Interesting technology! Not the best resolution, but super easy

In between the ceremony and reception, Chuck and Teri invited a few folks to join them for cocktails. Julie, Wayne's girlfriend, was hanging with us and so she got to hang out with the older folks for an hour or so.
you wouldn't believe how long it took to get this picture set up :)
The reception was awesome. I loved catching up with so many youngsters, high school friends of Matt's, that I had not seen in years. It was great to see Christy and Steve's family too. That is one of the best parts of a wedding, having people who are important in your life all gathered together for a few hours to celebrate a happy event.
