Last Saturday, after wedding dress shopping, Julie, Sarah (her sister), Marie (her mom), Sally and I stopped in the Drake for a quick toast. I enjoyed sharing with everyone that we were celebrating our bride and the joy of choosing a wedding dress. Note: a cab driver turned off the meter when I told him that and our waiter at the Drake gave us a free dessert. :) Just sayin'

After the Drake, we met up with Wayne, Jack, Gordon (Julie's dad), Tim (Julie's brother-in-law and Sarah's husband) and Ty (Tim and Sarah's 3 month old son) at the Union League Club for dinner. It was such a festive evening! A nice bonus was running into Tom and Marsha, parents of Andrew, who played football with Wayne in high school (Andrew was the center and Wayne the right guard). Jack and I spent many a Friday night with Tom and Marsha and it was so good to see them. They were happy to meet Wayne's fiancée.

I couldn't help but think of Grandma and miss her, but also I thought of all of the happy times we have spent at the Club- so many happy family memories over the last 32 years. Those were great days for which we are so thankful. Looking forward to many more.
