Second half of Spring Break 14

I know you have been anxiously waiting to hear about the rest of my break. :)
There are lots of details in this post, so feel free to skim if you want.
I am happy to report that I maintained my productivity and relaxed and had fun, too.
It was raining/icing/sleeting on Thursday morning, so Jean and I didn't walk. I slept in until 6:30, then rolled out of bed and went to my 7am mammogram appointment. Nice that the imaging center is only blocks away from my house. I was home by 7:45 and showered up and went to my 9am appointment with an orthopedic surgeon. My hip has been bothering me for the last six months and it was time to get it checked out. I went to see Larry, who has kids Wayne and Sally's ages, who we have known for the past 20 years via kids sports but have not seen for the last 8 years or so. After Larry and I spent 15 minutes catching up on the families (which was so fun), I found out that I do have arthritis in my left hip, not a surprise given my strong family history. He gave me lots of helpful advice and I was glad to have a firm diagnosis so I don't have to wonder anymore.
Jack and I had a quick lunch out at the Patio, thanks to a gift card from a student. He went back to work and I went to get the emissions test done on the car.
Look at me!
Wow.
I know. Productive.
Yesterday, Friday, was all fun and games.
I met Lynn, my dear friend, my oldest friend (in terms of years of friendship, not years on this earth!), for breakfast at Panera. We were in need of a catch up session. Badly. Loved loved loved the chance to sit and talk for two hours, just the two of us.
Jack and I had lunch plans with Sally, who had a 1/2 day of school, to begin her spring break. We had narrowed the restaurant choices to Reel Club (a seafood restaurant in the mall) or Nabuki (a sushi restaurant in town) and Sally was going to make the final choice when she came home. She chose Nabuki. As we walked in the door, to our utter DELIGHT!!!, there sat Teri, Caylen and Brittany! Brittany was in town to work on wedding plans. We had not seen her since she got engaged to Chase last month. There was lots of screaming and hugging and next thing you know, we had a table for six in the back of the restaurant. It was so unexpected and serendipitous. Happy times!!

Sally came back to our house to hang out and watch an episode of Parenthood.

We called Christy to come over and say hi to her girl. Fun to catch up!

Sally and I picked up Matt at the train, then they had a quick glass of wine with us before going to a friend/coworker's house for dinner.
It was great to have the gift of time to spend with fun people.
