When Sally was writing her blog while she was studying abroad, I was always on her case about posting, always wanting something new to read. And now that I have my own blog, Sally has been teasing me about posting again. I guess I will need to have more than one post, so here goes.
It was a very busy weekend...
I taught an all day continuing ed learning strand on Saturday, co-facilitated by the very fun Lisa Loo. The topic was "Improving Speech Intelligibility in Children". The day flew by, at least for me. Things went pretty well, a few technological glitches here and there, but great participants and great snacks (Kirschbaum's donut holes including my favorite glazed ones). We did not take a morning or afternoon break and cut our lunch by 15 minutes and so we were done by 2:45.
By 4:15, Jack and I were on the road to one of our favorite events of the year...the Hillsdale County Fair! Jack first attended the Fair as a freshman at Hillsdale College and has not missed a year since. I first attended in 1982, the year we met, and have only missed two fairs since then. Wayne and Sally have only missed a few also. It has been a wonderful tradition for our family. I remember well my first Fair and how exciting it was to be there with Jack, then at the Fair the following year we were newly married, the year after that we were expecting Wayne, the year after that we were there with Rick, Pat and Alison and Chuck, Teri and Caylen and a couple of years later it was Sally's first Fair and ....fast forward and here we are....hard to believe those years went by so quickly. We have a wonderful collection of photo buttons from every year and it is so fun to look at them, lined up in chronological order and look at the evolution of our family. We are so blessed.
