For the last two days I have had laryngitis. I think it is related to the weather change and sinus issues. It is so frustrating. It makes me appreciate the gift of being able to communicate. I cannot imagine how difficult it would be to not be able to say whatever you wanted to. No chit chat or polite conversational exchanges. Just what needs to be said. Of course I am reminded of how my brother Tom's communication was so impaired by his brain tumor and how well he handled it. Jeez. I am so humbled by that.
Ok, so to bring it up a bit, today at work, my aide/paraeducator Ellyn suggested we switch roles since it was difficult for me to talk. It was really fun. It was good to see how much is involved in the other person's role in our classroom. Neither is as easy as it looks. Ellyn has an awesome sense of humor and is so good with the kids. The highlight of the day was when the kids told me that Miss Ellyn said that she was the boss now and things were gonna change...field trips to water parks, all new toys for the classroom....so funny!
I am hoping that my voice is back tomorrow. It's Halloween celebrations in the EBD classrooms. Say no more. No pun intended.

I seem to have caught your non-contagious laryngitis. Now, if only the boys would get it too, it would seem more like a 'plus'. ;)
