Wayne's birthday was Saturday. How to best celebrate this? After much discussion and back and forth (go out for lunch? Go to dinner with Wayne and his friends?), we ended up celebrating Wayne's birthday in the way he most desired...by showing up at his karaoke party at the Blue Frog Bar in the city. Which started at 9:00pm! No small feat for us, but we managed AND enjoyed. The bar was really small and super cozy. And there was an outstanding turnout of friends from all parts of Wayne's life. There were friends from grade school, high school, college, work, some cousins and cousins friends. Two of Dane's good friends, Luke and Adam, both came (though I missed Adam because Jack and I only stayed for an hour or so). Jack and I were the only ones from our generation there or even invited for that matter. Might have been an obligatory invite, but we didn't care:)
An excellent time was had by all and lots of fun songs were performed (I hesitate to use the word sung because that might be stretching the truth a bit)
Happy birthday, Waynieboy! We get so much joy out of just watching how you relate to others. God has indeed blessed us to have you as our son. Love you so much!
